Creating the Covers

Here you can find a more thorough explanation of the various steps I use when making the covers. The covers are not ready to paint straight out of the 3D Printer, far from it! They have to be sanded, washed, dried and then primed with numerous layers of paint before they’re smooth enough to water marble.

Prepped

Marbled

Here is a video of the marbling process used on most of my Omnipod Covers. This particular one has two or three additional color coats over the primer to give it a deep sparkly Burgundy Color. Once this has been cured we can move on to the water marble design that will go over it.

 

Cured

Next, a protective resin coating is applied and then left to cure. This gives the cover a glossy, durable finish. in this final video you can see the transformation from satin to shine and what a beautiful thing it does to the colors underneath.
